Dispatches from a photographer’s life on the road with stories, images, and lessons from chasing the unknown in the remote corners of the planet.
I started a Substack.
It’s called In Search of Elsewhere. The first post is up now.
I’ve been writing for a long time, mostly in captions and the margins of other people’s stories. This is where the longer work lives. The stuff that doesn’t compress. The stories behind the images, the decisions that don’t make it into a press release, the reality of building a career out of going places most people don’t go and photographing things that are harder to explain than they look.
The first post is called The Road That Led Here. It’s about where this all started, growing up in Saudi Arabia, the kind of restlessness that either destroys you or sends you around the world twice. It’s the foundation piece. Everything else builds from it.
If you’ve followed the photos and wondered what’s underneath them, this is the answer.
New posts go out every two weeks. The next one is already written.
