What you see in a person’s face depends on how long you’re willing to sit still. I’ve spent much of my life on the move, on trains, planes, boats and battered motorcycles, but it’s often in the quiet, lingering moments that something honest reveals itself. These portraits are moments of trust, freely given and never taken for granted. I don’t take lightly the weight of being allowed in, even briefly, to witness someone’s quiet vulnerability, and I carry each one with gratitude, knowing what a gift it is to be given that trust, even for a moment.
