Canon EOS 1D X Mark II
Canon’s 1D X Mark II is my go to camera when I want to capture action. It has a redeveloped full-frame 20.2MP CMOS sensor pairs with dual DIGIC 6+ image processors it has notable image quality and accuracy, as well as fast performance throughout the camera system. With 14 fps and 16 fps in Live Mode, I feel confident that I won’t miss the shot.
Canon EOS 5DS R
Canon’s EOS 5DS R is my everyday camera that captures everything that isn’t fast action. It is a brand-new EOS R system with a smaller, compact design with a full-frame 50.6MP CMOS sensor that captures ultra-high resolution images. It has four RF lenses reimagining Canon optics and three optional Mount Adapters helping to ensure you can still use the EF and EF-S lenses.
Leica X-U
This is Leica’s all weather camera and is waterproof to a depth of 20ft. I use this camera when I need to travel very light and I’m in adverse weather situations. If I’m on an expedition and think that I might need to take pictures on dry land and in the water or in very wet conditions, this is the camera use. I shot the Leica campaign and my Journey into the Sahara story with this camera as well as the Bajau Sea Gypsies and a current project I’m working on in the wet jungles of northern India. It was also the perfect camera to bring to Burning Man!;)
Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II
This is one of the lenses I use the most. With a versatile range of focal lengths, it’s great for documentary photography and is fast and sharp. If I can only have a couple of lenses with me, this is definitely one of them.
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III
This is my other workhorse lens. It’s lighter than the previous versions, is great in low light and has good sharpness on the corners for a wide angle lens. I don’t leave home without it.
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L III
A great lens for capturing action. It’s fast and sharp, provides increased control of depth of field and it’s range of focal lengths compliment action sport photography . Especially when you can’t get super close.
Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L
This lens is great for travel photography. It has an impressively fast f/1.2 maximum aperture which allows for a great degree of control over depth of field for isolating subjects and producing desirable selective focus effects.
Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II
A short-telephoto, portrait-length prime that is ideal for portraiture. It has exceptional control over depth of field.
